New Gold Solders: Lower Temperatures and "Faster Flowing"
Since publishing our Ready-Stock™ catalogue in June, Imperial has developed several new solder formulae. In August we introduced new White Gold solders in 10K and 14K Easy, and 10K Hard. These new solders exhibit superior colour and improved flow characteristics. In laboratory tests, there are only marginal differences in solidus/liquidus temperatures between the new solders and the previous ones. But at the bench, the difference is dramatic - shorter dwell times and noticeably faster flow rates. In short, the new solders are easier to work with because the transition from melted puddle to flowing stream is fast and predictable.

In response to numerous requests we have also developed an "Extra-Easy" solder in 10K Yellow. The need for a repair solder that "melts at room temperature" is apparent to anyone who has tried to repair fine chains and other delicate items. As with the new White solders, it's not the actual liquidus temperature that is so critical but more importantly, how soon after it is fully liquid does the solder begin to flow. Extra-Easy solders should start flowing as soon as they are fully liquid, and ours achieves that mandate. We look forward to your comments and appreciate the contribution of our many customers who help guide and shape our Research & Development efforts by telling us what you need and never settling for second best.
